Search Engine Optimization - How deep can nested tables go for Google?

September 27, 2005

Interesting post I found here http://seo.anthonyparsons.com/forum/thread423.html which describes a test they did with a website that had 20 levels deep of nested tables each with a unique statement. Looks like google and msn both went the 20 levels deep to read the code. Good news for me as my ad sites are deeply nested ;)

CSS can be a real pain for complex layouts. I use CSS for everything but layout usually

As far as SEO is concerned, nowdays Search Engines give more preference to "GOOD Quality CONTENT". They Like those websites which update their content on regular basis. thats the reason why many blogs gain higher rankings

As i see it CSS is really pain in the ass. I would reccomend to use more time on writing good content and then hire in a good programmer to do the rest.

I couldn't find the test from the link but your blog was still helpful. My site uses a lot of tables and I always understood that to be bad, very bad. I asked at HighRankings (a popular SEO forum) and they said that bots can read your content even when it is embedded in layers. I still question it though.
